[Yet another journal plays, one of countless left to their own nefarious devices. The video shows--well, mostly sky. No one said the books could aim themselves, even if they do turn on without help. On the right, however, a man can be seen standing on what looks like a ledge. In fact, anyone below that particular community building might see him as well. William has woken up in a very high place, and perched himself in the best spot to observe the activity below.]

Honestly. This situation grows continually worse. [The voice is bland, if clearly irritated. Fitting as it comes from a man whose posture would rival most wooden boards.] Whatever turn has brought me to this place is most unwelcome.

[Then a breeze blows not quite at the right angle to turn the page, but perfectly directed to send a shiver up William's back. Oh, and of course the black wings now attached there spread out, instinctively resisting the cold.]

And with these unnecessary appendages in place of my proper clothes. Honestly, if either of those ill-performing reapers were capable of such a thing, I could easily place the blame on them. I can only hope that the responsible party somehow has more sense, now that whatever poor joke they've attempted has come to its fruition.

[He raises a hand, fingers extended, up to the side of his face. There's a faint click as he adjusts his glasses, quickly replaced by an irritated sigh.]

Certainly they can return my scythe at the very least.

[He can't even jump down with proper balance while he lacks it.]

[...So there's someone up on the roof. Not wanting to disturb anyone by shouting to get Will's attention he instead goes to his journal to respond.]

There are clothes and weapon shops further in the village which might have your belongings in stock if you would care to take a look. [...] Are you alright up there? [Aside from the wings and everything that is.]

[The voice prompts William to turn in the general direction of the book, although he is looking for a person rather than a thing.]

Hardly all right, but unless you are the one responsible for my state, I doubt there is anything you can do about it. [And would the guilty party truly ask about his condition? Doubtful.]

These shops you mentioned. Am I to understand, then, that my stolen belongings have been placed on sale? I do not intend to pay anything for items that are rightfully mine.

Sorry but I'm not, that would be the Malnosso. [Good luck expecting them to do anything about your condition either Will.]

And no. Though they're called shops the village doesn't actually use any form of currency, so you're free to take what's yours. The same goes for food too.

[Flipping through his journal, finding the guide and throwing up a link for Will so he can read it for himself should he choose to.]

The Malnosso. I have never heard of any such beings before, although their methods are clearly questionable. Honestly, why bother to steal ones possessions if it is apparently so easy to reacquire them?

[William will be most thankful for that link, once he becomes aware of it. As it stands, he's still unaware of just who is speaking to him, as they are apparently hiding themselves.]

That? I do not see any change in my current surroundings.

Neither had I before coming here, but seeing as this is an entirely new world it makes sense for there to be things here no one has heard of before.

[The whole taking your stuff and putting in a shop is kind of silly though so not even Yukio has an answer for that.

[Regardless of how logical this person's reply, William does not like being utterly clueless as to his situation.]

A book, is it? [There is a pause, followed by steady footsteps. When William speaks again, he is clearly much closer, as evidenced by both volume and picture.]

[William likes the written word. He's turning pages already to see what is written in the volume.]

That's right. It's the same guide I read after arriving here and I've found it a big help in understanding a little more about this place.

With that out of the way do you think you're capable of getting down? It's not safe to be that high up having just arrived when your body might still be sore.

It is hardly anything to be concerned about. Even in my present condition, I am still more than capable of handling myself, regardless of my altitude.

I was only checking. There are a fair number of people here who wouldn't be able to deal with such a predicament and might need assistance you see.

Furthermore even those who are capable might overestimate their abilities when they have yet to properly adjust to their wings.

Thank you for your concern then, although I reassert that it is entirely unnecessary. Regardless of these unwanted appendages, I am not so hindered.

Excuse me for asking but how do you intend to get down? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with otherworldly abilities as of yet so I'm not sure how you might handle it. If you need medical assistance once you're down then I would gladly check you over.
